Jennifer Lawrence Shuts Down Plastic Surgery Comments: “I’m Doing Makeup”
While promoting her most recent movie, No Hard Feelings, Jennifer Lawrence caught flak online because she looked so different after being out of the public eye for some time.
But JLaw is finally setting the story straight!
Jennifer Lawrence (33) sparked rumors of plastic surgery after fans pointed out how different she looked at several events, including the Dior Fashion Show. Many took to social media and speculated that the actress may have gotten lip fillers and a nose job.
In an interview with Kylie Jenner, the Oscar winner set the record straight. She said, “I also think it’s incredible what makeup can do because I work with Hung [Vanngo], who overlines the lip, and I call him a plastic surgeon, because everybody in the last few months since I’ve been working with him is convinced that I had eye surgery.”
She continued: “I’m like, ‘I didn’t have eye surgery. I’m doing makeup.”
The Hunger Games star also pointed out that faces change as you age. She explained, “I started at 19, so I get the before and after pictures from when I’m 19 to 30, and I’m like, ‘I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face, and my face changed because I’m aging.’”
“Everybody thought I had a nose job, and I’m like, ‘I’ve had the exact same nose. My cheeks got smaller.’ Thank you for bringing it up,” the 33-year-old actress said.
Lawrence, who gave birth to son Cy in early 2022 with husband and art gallery director Cooke Maroney, said she wanted to protect her baby’s privacy and didn’t “want anyone to feel welcome into their existence.”
Meanwhile, Kylie Jenner, who is infamously known for denying allegations of cosmetic surgery, responded in the interview, “I did end up getting lip fillers, but it’s also the same with me. I’ll see before and after photos when I’m 12 years old versus 26, and my eyebrows are filled differently. I have contour on. I’m like, ‘How can you compare my 12-year-old face and say I’ve gotten my jaw shaved and eyelids removed?’” she questioned.
Although this is JLaw’s first time addressing the plastic surgery allegations, Jenner is not new to this. For years, the cosmetic and skincare mogul has denied undergoing any procedure until recently. She admitted to getting a boob job and denied anything more than lip fillers.
Kylie also said in her reality show, “One of the biggest misconceptions about me is that I was this insecure child, and I got so much surgery to change my whole face, which is false.”
Although many celebs have openly spoken about injectables and surgeries, like Lady Gaga and Tori Spelling, this is not the first time fans have put female stars under the microscope for plastic surgery allegations. Recently, Chrissy Teigen admitted that everything but her cheeks was real after receiving many comments about getting work done.
Many celebs have also outrightly spoken against plastic surgery, from Meryl Streep, Salma Hayek, and even Charlize Theron.
In fact, Theron openly said, “My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging. People think I had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like, ‘Bitch, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.’”
