Madonna Honors Lifesaver At Concert After Health Scare

Madonna had a heartwarming moment during her recent concert on the Celebration Tour. The 65-year-old iconic singer took the stage at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and gave a heartfelt shout-out to a friend in the audience who, in her words, “saved my life.” It appeared to be a reference to the serious bacterial infection she faced in June.
In a video shared by a fan, Madonna made a special acknowledgment, pointing out that there was “one very important woman” present that night who had played a crucial role in helping her overcome her health ordeal. She shared, “There are some very important people in the room tonight that were with me at the hospital. There’s one very important woman who dragged me to the hospital. I don’t even remember; I passed out on my bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU… She saved my life.”
Madonna went on to reveal that she had been in a medically-induced coma for 48 hours, and during that time, the only voice she heard was that of her Kabbalah teacher, who said, “squeeze my hand.”
Adding a touch of humor to the story, the Frozen singer quipped, “By the way, I had to almost die to get all my kids in one room.” The superstar is a mother to six children – Lourdes, Rocco, David Banda, Mercy James, and 11-year-old twins Estere and Stella.
On June 28, Madonna’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, shared the news on Instagram that the singer was in the ICU due to a serious bacterial infection. He assured fans that her health was improving, but she would require medical care and a full recovery was expected.
In the statement, Oseary mentioned the need to pause all commitments, including the tour, due to Madonna’s health. However, he promised to provide more details, including a new tour start date and rescheduled shows, in due course.
Madonna finally broke her silence on July 10, expressing gratitude for the love and support she had received from her fans
She said, “I have felt your love. I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life. “My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappointment anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”
She further emphasized her focus on health and recovery, assuring her fans that she would return to the stage as soon as possible.
After postponing the first North American leg of the Celebration World Tour, which marks the 40th anniversary of her debut album, Madonna resumed her tour in London in October. The tour is set to go on till April 2024.
