Pete Davidson Cancels Shows Amid Uncertainty
In an unexpected turn of events, Pete Davidson has abruptly canceled his one-man shows, leaving fans puzzled and disappointed. Scheduled performances for this evening and tomorrow night at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, as well as future dates in Pittsburgh for the New Year, have been scrapped.
The announcement came through email, leaving ticket holders with only a few hours’ notice before showtime. The Beacon Theatre, where the New York shows were set to take place, tweeted the unfortunate news just two hours before the scheduled start time. Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania appearances were canceled during lunchtime on Friday, leaving fans in Pittsburgh equally surprised.
The statement from the venue read, “Please be advised that the Pete Davidson performances scheduled to take place at the Beacon Theatre on Fri, Dec 22, and Sat, Dec 23 have been canceled.”
Announcing that ticket holders can expect automatic refunds within 30 days, the venue expressed its gratitude for the understanding and continued support of the fans.
This sudden cancellation also affects fans in San Antonio, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Atlanta, Louisville, Kentucky, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where Davidson had upcoming appearances over the next two weeks.
Pete, 30, has made a significant mark on the comedy scene, especially during his time on SNL from 2014 to 2022. Known for his unique humor and wit, he became one of the youngest cast members in the show’s storied history.
Beyond his comedy career, the former Saturday Night Live cast member has appeared in several movies and made headlines for his high-profile relationships, including Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande. Currently, he is dating Madelyn Cline. Their relationship first came to light in October, although reports suggest that they do not consider it a ‘serious’ romance.
Pete has also been open about his ongoing struggles with mental health and substance abuse. In June, he checked himself into rehab, battling borderline personality disorder and PTSD, conditions he was diagnosed with in 2017. He has been candid about seeking help, stating, “I got diagnosed with BPD a few years ago, and I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn’t know how to deal with it.”
“’Then, when somebody finally tells you, the weight of the world feels lifted off your shoulders. You feel so much better,” he added.
Despite the challenges he has faced, Davidson’s resilience and commitment to his career have shone through. He recently put on shows in Florida as part of his comedy comeback and announced a tour alongside fellow comedians John Mulaney and Jon Stewart.
