Kevin Hart Takes Legal Action Against YouTuber Tasha K And His Former Assistant Over Cheating Allegations
Kevin Hart is taking legal action against allegations of cheating made by his former assistant, Miesha Shakes, during an interview with YouTuber Tasha K. The lawsuit, filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, has brought attention to the claims made during the online interview, which also involved Latasha Kebe, known as Tasha K, as defendants in the case.
Miesha served as Kevin’s personal assistant from August 2017 to October 2020, as detailed in the complaint.
The interview, which was published on Latasha’s Instagram account and YouTube channel, Unwine with Tasha K, on December 22, included startling allegations from Miesha. Among these claims were allegations of an affair involving Kevin, who is 44, and an incident that supposedly took place in his office. Miesha also alleged that she informed Kevin’s wife, Eniko, about his alleged infidelity and claimed that the comedian had a gambling problem.
A preview of the interview was captioned with the words, “The interview that Kevin Hart will WISH NEVER CAME OUT!!”
Kevin’s lawsuit asserts that Latasha demanded money from him, threatening to release the interview if he didn’t comply. According to the document, in November, someone affiliated with the Youtuber contacted Kevin’s representative, informing them of the damaging content in the interview. The individual stated that Latasha would only refrain from publishing the interview if Kevin paid a ransom of $250,000.
Kevin reportedly took swift action, involving the police and issuing a cease and desist order to Kebe, requesting that she not publish the interview. The lawsuit pointed out the existence of a Non-Disclosure Agreement between Miesha and Kevin and argued that releasing the interview would constitute intentional interference with contractual relations.
Beyond violating the NDA, Kevin’s complaint alleges that the interview contained false and defamatory statements about him and inaccurately depicted certain legal disputes he had been involved in. Among these alleged falsehoods was Miesha’s claim that Kevin recorded a video of a sexual encounter and faced criminal charges related to it.
The comedian’s legal action encompasses charges of civil extortion and invasion of privacy (public disclosure of private facts) against all defendants. Additionally, he is suing Miesha for breach of contract and defamation, and Latasha for intentional interference with contractual relations.
The lawsuit highlights Latasha’s history of posting defamatory content concerning celebrities.
It is worth noting that the interviewer has faced criticism for airing allegations involving other celebrities, including Will Smith and Duane Martin, both of whom publicly denied the claims. Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, has promised that legal action would be taken in response to the interview.
In 2022, musician Cardi B won a libel case against Latasha after the rapper accused her of making malicious claims.
Kevin, who shares children Heaven and Hendrix with his ex-wife Torrei Hart, married Eniko after their divorce in 2011. They have two children together, Kenzo and Kaori.
