Michelle Keegan Gets Emotional Over Completion Of £3.5 Million Dream Mansion
Actress Michelle Keegan, 36, and her husband Mark Wright, also 36, have recently put the finishing touches on their remarkable £3.5 million Essex mansion, a four-year journey that brought Michelle to tears during a recent interview. The couple embarked on this ambitious project in 2019, purchasing the land for £1.3 million and overseeing every aspect of construction, documenting their progress on their @wrightyhome Instagram account.
Their sprawling dream home includes five bedrooms, a home bar, a private spa, gym, walk-in wardrobe, sauna, granny annexe, vast grounds, and an outdoor swimming pool. To celebrate their housewarming, they hosted a grand ‘Marcella’ pool party featuring fireworks and performances by Scouting For Girls, Olly Murs, and Russell Kane.
Michelle opened up about her emotional connection to their mega-mansion during an interview with The Guardian. She revealed that upon returning from filming in Australia, she was overwhelmed by Mark’s thoughtful gesture of lighting candles throughout the house. Tears welled up as she tried to find the words to express her feelings.
“I couldn’t find the words to say how I felt because I was so overwhelmed. I just burst out crying,” Michelle recalled. She attributed her tears to the hard work and sacrifices they made to create their dream home, including spending months apart due to work commitments.
Despite the challenges, Michelle emphasized the importance of their home as a symbol of security. “And the house – it’s also about security. Because you never know when all this is going to end,” she said.
In addition to their mansion’s completion, Michelle also shared a humorous anecdote about Mark’s best friend, James Argent, who is known for his close bond with the couple. James previously revealed that he was banned from using the mansion’s toilet due to an incident where he ‘destroyed it’ during a visit.
Michelle explained that her husband Mark is a ‘clean freak’ and doesn’t like people using the toilet or wearing shoes inside the house. She jokingly mentioned that during parties, they even hire additional toilets to prevent any mishaps.
“We hire toilets and things… If it’s a family party that’s fine, but like if it’s a big party people can go to my toilet I don’t care,” she explained, later adding that james “destroyed” their toilet during a past visit and “was hanging off.”
