DDG Praises Girlfriend Halle Bailey’s Motherhood Journey
DDG is opening up about his experience as a first-time father and how his girlfriend, Halle Bailey, has been an incredible mom to their newborn son.
In a heartfelt video posted on his YouTube channel, the 26-year-old rapper expressed his admiration for Halle, calling her a “great mom” and emphasizing that he wouldn’t choose anyone else in the world to share this parenting journey with.
“Me and Halle had a baby together. I wouldn’t choose no other person in the world to have a child with. We’re learning. She’s a great mom. Like, it’s crazy. She’s amazing,” DDG shared in the video.
He continued to shower praise on Halle, describing her as a “professional mom” and highlighting that their newly formed family of three is doing exceptionally well.
Back in January, Halle, known for her role in The Little Mermaid, joyfully announced the arrival of their son, Halo, on her Instagram. She shared a touching photo of her manicured hand holding the tiny hand of their precious baby boy, adorned with a gold bracelet engraved with the name “Halo.”
“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥️,” she captioned the heartwarming image.
Halle and DDG have been in a loving relationship for over a year. They made their romance Instagram official in March 2022 when DDG posted a special birthday message for the R&B singer.
Notably, Halle is known for her privacy when it comes to her personal life. Throughout her pregnancy, she never officially confirmed the news of her impending motherhood.
In November, Halle addressed a fan’s comment on Snapchat about her appearance during pregnancy. In response, she shared a video defending herself and proudly embracing her identity, saying, “Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s going to be hell to pay.”
“You know why? Because I’m Black. I love my nose. What are you concerned about my nose for? Leave me the hell alone,” she added.
In a previous interview with PEOPLE in May, Halle opened up about her blossoming romance with DDG. She described him as a real “Prince Charming” and spoke about the beautiful journey of discovering herself while loving someone else.
As she explained, “I think the best thing about young love is that you’re able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else. And you’re discovering new parts of yourself and maybe things that you didn’t notice before about your heart.”
