Dolph Lundgren Thrilled With Married Life And Collaborative Partnership With Wife Emma
Dolph Lundgren, the 66-year-old Hollywood legend, is relishing his journey through married life after tying the knot with Emma Krokdal, 27, last summer. In a recent interview while promoting his latest film, Wanted Man, which he wrote, directed, and stars in, Dolph couldn’t help but express his joy about marriage.
“I really enjoy it,” he told Fox News when asked about being married. He praised his wife, Emma, not only for her role in their life together but also for her invaluable contributions to his Hollywood career.
“Emma is a great support. She’s very clever,” he gushed, revealing that they have been working together on various projects. “We’re working on a comedy. She helped me on [Wanted Man] as well. She helps me with the script and in production and post-production — just giving me a second opinion,” he added.
Dolph and Emma exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony in Mykonos, Greece, on July 13. The actor opened up about their intimate celebration to PEOPLE, explaining, “We chose to celebrate our love by getting married at our villa in Mykonos with family and a few close friends. With both Covid and a long road of challenging medical treatments, we’ve had to push our marriage plans many times.”
Dolph’s resilience shone through as he referred to his 2015 kidney cancer diagnosis and the recurrence of the disease in 2020. “We felt it was finally the right time to celebrate love, life, and happiness — in the land of the gods,” he added.
The couple’s love story began at a Los Angeles Equinox, where they first met and struck up a friendship that blossomed into romance. The couple got engaged in June 2020, a joyous occasion that Dolph shared with the world on Instagram. He posted a photo of the couple toasting with a bottle of champagne, showcasing Krokdal’s engagement ring.
In a May 2023 interview with journalist Graham Bensinger, Dolph addressed the significant age difference of nearly 40 years between him and his wife. He acknowledged the age gap but described Emma as “an angel that was sent down to help” him.
The actor also praised Emma’s maturity, given the challenges she has faced in life. “So she’s quite mature, and at the same time, I think I’m quite youthful. But you know, I’ve been with people that are twice her age [who are] less mature than she is.”
Emma is equally vocal about her love for Dolph. In a heartfelt birthday tribute to her husband last November, she described the Expend4bles star as “an amazing human being” who fearlessly confronts every challenge with a smile.
