Nicki Minaj Fires Back At Megan Thee Stallion with New Diss Track “Big Foot”
Nicki Minaj is unleashing her “Roman’s Revenge” against Megan Thee Stallion. Just days after Megan, the 28-year-old sensation, dropped her latest single, Hiss, which some speculate contains subtle jabs at Nicki, the 41-year-old Super Bass rapper has returned with a fierce diss track of her own.
On Monday, the rap icon released Big Foot, a one-off single directly aimed at the H-Town Hottie, confirming the ongoing feud that has been brewing. Nicki had hinted at this retaliation shortly after the release of Hiss.
In Hiss, the Grammy-winning artist asserted her dominance and addressed those who had criticized her, including artists who spoke about her in the media. However, Big Foot appears to be a direct response to a verse in Hiss that mentioned Megan’s Law, a policy for sex offenders, referencing Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, a level two sex offender in New York State.
In Big Foot, Nicki channels her rage-fueled alter ego Roman, making pointed accusations about Megan, alluding to her mother’s death and the 2020 shooting incident involving Tory Lanez. The rap star raps lines like, “Big foot, but you still a small fry / Swearin’ on your dead mother when you lie,” referring to Megan’s late mother who battled brain cancer and passed away in 2019.
Nicki also addresses cheating allegations made by Megan against her ex-boyfriend, rapper Pardison Fontaine, and criticizes her rap skills. She questions Megan’s credibility in her statements about the 2020 assault and other allegations.
Before the track’s outro, the Pills and Potions hitmaker hints at a second installment of the diss track, repeatedly stating, “Lyin’ on your dead mama, on-on your dead mama.”
Ho, the things that you’ve lied about / Even pertaining to your mom / You don’t want them out, okay? / Now, since you think it’s funny to speak about people’s families / We’ll all join in / We’ll all play the reindeer games,” a part of the song goes.
The origin of the feud between Megan and Nicki remains unclear, as they previously collaborated on 2019’s Hot Girl Summer. Some speculations have claimed that their falling out may be linked to Megan’s collaboration with Cardi B on WAP.
Throughout the weekend, the Grammy-nominated artist hinted at her response to Hiss on X (formerly known as Twitter), while Megan continued promoting Hiss on social media without revealing the target of the song.
On an episode of The Breakfast Club, Megan clarified that Hiss was directed at anyone using her name for attention and explained, “I’m saying, a hit dog gon’ holler. That’s it. Whoever feel it, feel it.”
