Vanderpump Rules Star Ariana Madix Talks About Rethinking Parenthood As Relationship Dynamics Shift
In a recent episode of Vanderpump Rules, Ariana Madix, 38, shared a candid conversation with co-star Lala Kent, 33, shedding light on her evolving views about parenthood. Ariana, who has been navigating the complexities of living under the same roof with ex Tom Sandoval, 40, revealed how her current relationship with boyfriend Daniel Wai has sparked contemplation about starting a family.
Reflecting on her past, she acknowledged how her former partnership with Sandoval impacted her perspective on parenthood.
“In retrospect, Tom being my partner affected my feelings on having kids a lot more than I thought it did,” she admitted.
However, the TV personality’s connection with Daniel has broadened her horizons, emphasizing the possibility of finding an equal partner in parenting. “”I feel like with Dan, I’ve kind of had my eyes open to the fact that there are different types of partners out there who would actually be a real 50/50 partner, or if I can only give 10% that day, he’s ready to give 90,” she shared.
Ariana, who once adamantly declared her aversion to motherhood, revealed a notable shift in her stance. Despite previously freezing her eggs while in a relationship with Tom, Ariana had been firm in her decision not to bear children. However, her recent introspection hints at a newfound openness to exploring different paths in life.
“Two years ago, I froze my eggs and I was able to retrieve 26 of them, which is really, really good. Like, incredible. Good job, ovaries,” she recalled from a past episode, highlighting her proactive approach to fertility preservation. While her views on pregnancy and childbirth remain unchanged, she emphasized her reluctance to let biological timelines dictate her choices.
As she explained, “My stance on all things related to being pregnant [and] giving birth has not really changed. It’s just that I don’t like biological clocks having the power to run anything. And those eggs, they are more viable as fertilized embryos.”
Tom, on the other hand, expressed mixed feelings about the prospect of parenthood. Despite initially expressing enthusiasm about fertilizing Ariana’s eggs, he later questioned the feasibility of their use. “Why would Ariana want me to fertilize her eggs when we might or might not have kids, whatever she decides?” he pondered.
