Kelsea Ballerini Shuts Down Haters After CMT Awards Performance
Kelsea Ballerini isn’t letting the haters rain on her parade. The 30-year-old country singer, who hosted the CMT Awards in Austin, Texas, for the fourth time, dazzled the audience with nine jaw-dropping outfit changes during the show.
Among her standout looks was a stunning gold bodysuit paired with tights and sky-high heels for a performance of Love Me Like You Mean It. Even though the performance was pre-taped, Kelsea’s ‘80s disco glam still stole the spotlight.
However, not everyone was impressed. Some internet trolls took aim at her decision to go pants-less for the performance. In response, she took to TikTok to set the record straight. While getting her glam touched up backstage, she shut down the criticism, declaring, “Shut up. No I didn’t” in response to a comment suggesting she forgot her pants during her performance.
Unfazed by the negativity, Kelsea confidently defended her fashion choice, insisting, “It looked hot. Period. Bye.” Her fans rallied behind her in the comments, praising her flawless style.
“Your outfits were on POINT boo!” a fan wrote.
Among the Unapologetically singer’s wardrobe highlights was a sizzling red David Koma dress on the red carpet, where she was joined by her boyfriend, Chase Stokes. Inside the venue, she rocked a chainmail slip dress and even brought back her iconic Barbie cowgirl costume.
As the curtains closed on the show, Kelsea announced it would be her final time hosting the CMT Awards. She, however, will always have fond memories of the time she spent on stage and behind the scenes, according to her.
Reflecting on her experience, she shared, “There’s something about this show, in particular, that feels like a summer party.”
“Everyone backstage is ‘cheers’-ing each other and running into each other’s dressing rooms. That’s the energy that I want to bring on screen and into the room,” she added.
