Nicole Kidman And Keith Urban Shine At The Met Gala, Nicole Says Keith Brings The Calm
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Hollywood’s beloved duo, once again stole the spotlight at the 2024 Met Gala, themed “The Garden of Time.” The couple graced the red carpet hand-in-hand, radiating elegance and complementing each other perfectly in their attire.
Dressed by Balenciaga, Nicole dazzled in a custom reinterpretation of a 1950s Cristóbal Balenciaga Couture evening gown. The stunning piece featured a white silk satin bustier and a long-flared skirt adorned with hand-frayed organza and feather-like embroidery, paired with classic white opera gloves. Her look was completed with her long blonde hair flowing in a straight style, styled by Adir Abergel.
Keith matched Nicole’s elegance, opting for a sharp black single-breasted Balenciaga jacket paired with straight-leg pants, a black satin bow tie, and cummerbund, maintaining a coordinated and stylish look with his wife. The chemistry between the two was palpable as they ascended the steps together, with Keith attentively helping Nicole navigate the flurry of photo ops.
As the couple exited their hotel to attend the gala, Nicole shared with PEOPLE that despite her experience with the event, she still feels nerves fluttering before stepping onto the red carpet. However, having Keith by her side makes everything more manageable. “I have my man with me,” she stated.
This year’s Met Gala was particularly significant for Nicole as it honored the late Karl Lagerfeld, a legend in the fashion industry whom Nicole had worked closely with, including in the iconic Chanel No. 5 commercial directed by Baz Luhrmann. Reflecting on the durability and beauty of couture gowns, Nicole noted, “I suppose the way these these couture gowns last is because of their exquisiteness. If you take care of them and love them, they are timeless.”
“To be able to wear the same thing 20 years later and it still holds … There’s whimsy to it. It’s a feather and it’s unbelievably comfortable, but it’s all handmade, it’s couture and that’s what it should be,” she added.
The event also came just after Nicole received a prestigious accolade at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, where she appeared in a glittering gold Balenciaga gown, surrounded by her family.
