Justin soon realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the young wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.
A synopsis from Disney on the series reads, “When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.”
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place comes 12 years after Wizards of Waverly Place concluded its four-season run on Disney Channel. The original series, which ended in 2012, also had a TV movie, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie in 2009, and a TV special, The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex in 2012.
Before the new series was officially announced in January, Selena expressed her desire to bring back the magic. In a 2022 interview with Extra, she was asked which of her past projects she would like to remake or reboot. Without hesitation, she replied, “Mine is Wizards, hands down, I would love that.”
