Ashley Iaconetti Says She’s A “Little Nervous” As She Prepares For Motherhood And Postpartum Challenges
Ashley Iaconetti, the 36-year-old Bachelor alum, is gearing up for the arrival of her second child and tackling the challenges that come with it. In a candid chat with PEOPLE, she shared her experiences and the steps she’s taking to manage postpartum hair loss during her pregnancy.
Partnering with Nioxin Ultimate Power Serum, Ashley has been proactive in addressing her hair concerns. “I’ve just been in a constant cycle of losing my hair and gaining it back for the past three and a half years now,” she explained.
Her journey with hair loss began after stopping spironolactone, which led to significant shedding. “After getting off that stuff, four months afterward, just clomping, it was crazy.”
Now, with her second pregnancy, she’s using Nioxin to help stimulate hair growth and strengthen hair follicles. “I was so insecure about putting my hair up in a ponytail,” she admitted. “I’m getting ahead of it this time with this really cool product from Nioxin. I want to do my best to lose as little as possible this time and I just started using it.”
Throughout this journey, Ashley has leaned on her supportive husband, Jared Haibon, whom she met through the Bachelor franchise. “He’s very encouraging, even though I’m always like, ‘I just miss my body and I just miss having it to myself and looking pretty,'” she shared.
Jared’s dedication to fitness has also been a source of inspiration, even if it adds a bit of friendly competition at home. “He’s hitting the gym six times a week and waking up early and lost 15 pounds in the past two months and I’m like, could you have waited a few months to look really hot?”
As they prepare to welcome their second child, Ashley and Jared are feeling the jitters about juggling two kids.
“And then you’re like, Okay, well we just got all this down pat and now how do you throw in a whole other kid? It’s just like, how do you go out with a kid? How do you keep your eye on them both in the house at the same time?” she said, adding, “But I think we’re just curious and anxious to see how it is to keep two people alive. But then I’m a lot less nervous about birth because I was petrified of it the first time around, and now I’m like, oh no.”
The reality of managing two children is setting in, with concerns about daily routines and safety. “How do you go out with a kid? How do you keep your eye on them both in the house at the same time?” she pondered. Despite these worries, Ashley feels more confident about the birth itself. “I’m a lot less nervous about birth because I was petrified of it the first time around, and now I’m like, oh no.”
Looking ahead, Ashley is most excited to see her son Dawson become a big brother. “I think that he’s going to be extremely affectionate,” she said. “Wanting to be very helpful and I think that’ll just melt my heart.”
With their family soon to welcome another addition, Ashley and Jared are ready to focus on their children. “I’m excited to feel like our family will definitely be complete at that point and to be like, all right, this is us, and full concentration on the kids and not having to think about baby planning in the future,” she shared, noting that they are “definitely” done having kids.
