Lindsie Chrisley Finds Strength In Chosen Family Amid Estrangement
Lindsie Chrisley, known from the Chrisley family, recently opened up about the importance of chosen family over blood relatives. On a heartfelt episode of her Southern Tea podcast, the 34-year-old shared how she has redefined the concept of family as she’s grown older.
“You don’t necessarily prioritize the people that God gave you, but you prioritize the relationships that add value to your life. And someone who you choose as family might not be blood related, but you consider them more family than your own family,” she explained.
The conversation during the podcast then shifted to the care of her son, Jackson Campbell, born in 2012, in case something happened to both her and her ex-husband, Will Campbell. Lindsie expressed her concerns and thoughts on who would be the best guardian for Jackson, emphasizing that it isn’t always about blood relations.
“And as I was reading this, I was like, oh dear God. What would I do if something, God forbid, happened to Will and I at the same time?” she pondered. “And obviously, my parents aren’t a choice. My mom is not a choice. My grandparents are too old to do it.”
While Will’s parents are “in their sixties,” Lindsie noted their established relationship with Jackson as a crucial factor. “But I think Will’s brother and my ex-sister-in-law, because they also have children younger than Jackson and know him very well, are in the thick of parenting.”
Lindsie’s reflections come amid a turbulent relationship with her family. Her younger sister, Savannah, confirmed on Instagram Stories that she asked Lindsie not to attend their parents Todd and Julie Chrisley’s public appeals hearing in Georgia. Savannah explained, “I most certainly told her privately to not attend. I told her that she was not wanted, that my dad did not want her there, and that he didn’t care to have a relationship with her.”
Savannah also accused Lindsie of being involved in their parents’ conviction and attempting to sue her. “It hates [sic] me to even discuss this but the record has to be set straight,” Savannah stated.
Though there was a brief reconciliation, the sisters remain estranged, with Lindsie describing their relationship as “nothing.” She also claimed Savannah has never reached out privately to resolve issues. Savannah, on the other hand, expressed contentment with the situation, stating, “I don’t do well with constant lies and victim mentality.”
