Jennifer Lopez Is Devastated Yet Relieved Over Cancellation Of Tour To Focus On Family And Self
Jennifer Lopez has decided to cancel her upcoming tour, choosing to focus on her personal life and well-being. This decision, although difficult, comes at a crucial time for the singer and actress.
A source close to Jennifer shared with PEOPLE that the star is “devastated” about calling off her summer concert tour but understands that taking this time for herself and her loved ones is essential. “Life is a lot right now. As sad as she was to cancel the tour, she’s also relieved. She needs to take care of herself,” the source explained, adding, “The decision was something that her team encouraged. Everyone is supportive of her focusing on family right now.”
Jennifer’s This Is Me… Live tour was supposed to start on June 26 in Orlando, Florida, and include stops in major cities like Austin, Dallas, Las Vegas, Miami, Toronto, New York City, and Boston. The tour, a mix of her latest album and greatest hits, would have been her first since 2019’s It’s My Party Tour.
However, on May 31, Live Nation announced the cancellation, stating that Jennifer, 54, is “taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.” This move was heavily supported by her team, who encouraged her to prioritize her family.
Jennifer addressed her fans directly, saying, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”
She reassured them, “I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time.”
This decision comes amid reports that Jennifer’s marriage to Ben Affleck is facing challenges. The couple, who rekindled their romance and married in 2022, have been living separately in Los Angeles. Despite this, they have been showing a united front at various family events. Jennifer and her children, Max and Emme, attended Ben’s daughter Violet’s high school graduation, alongside Ben’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their other children, Seraphina and Sam.
The couple was also seen together at Sam’s basketball game on June 2, sharing a kiss on the cheek outside the event. “The graduation was a big deal. Jennifer wanted to celebrate it,” an insider told PEOPLE, noting that the couple is committed to putting their kids first as they navigate through this “heartbreaking” period.
