Ray J Says He’ll Always Love Enstranged Wife Princess Love Amid Fourth Divorce Filing
Ray J and Princess Love might be on the brink of their fourth divorce, but the singer’s affection for her remains unwavering. In a heartfelt interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast on June 5, the Sexy Can I artist, 43, opened up about his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Princess Love, 39. Despite their tumultuous relationship, Ray J expressed his enduring love for Princess, stating, “When you love someone, you love once in each life cycle… There’s one person you love, and that’s Princess.”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2016, announced their latest split in February. Reflecting on their relationship, Ray J admitted he’s unsure what triggered the recent divorce filing but emphasized his commitment to keeping Princess involved in his life.
After highlighting their shared dedication to co-parenting their two children, Melody, 6, and Epik, 4, Ray J confessed he would be heartbroken if Princess moved on before they had a chance to reconcile.
Yet he acknowledged the necessity of letting her live her life. “Just because the person I love goes out to experience life — everybody deserves that. You only get one life. When we’re both 75 or 80, sitting at the table, I want to be able to ask her, ‘Did you live it up?’ and hear her say, ‘Yes, I did,’” she said.
The singer admitted that accepting the end of their marriage has been a challenging journey. “A man realizing that a woman is moving on or doesn’t want to be with him anymore is a mind f—. For me, I had to get over that and understand that everything should be equal,” he explained.
Despite the divorce proceedings, Ray J remains hopeful about their future together. He emphasized that their love for each other and their children remains strong, regardless of their marital status.
“We both love our kids, and we both love being around each other, with the kids and without the kids. It’s just sometimes, time apart heals all. And I think when you get older, you kinda realize that,” he stated.
Ray J also made it clear he’s not interested in pursuing new relationships amid the divorce. “I’m never dating again,” he declared.
Speaking on his feelings for Princess, he added, “I want her to know that I’m never going anywhere, and she knows that. And so together, through these phases, I just wanna make sure that we’re good and the kids know that we’re still a solid unit together. That’s very important.”
Princess publicly announced their decision to divorce on Instagram on February 26. “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce,” she wrote.
“After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways,”she said, emphasizing their commitment to co-parenting and maintaining a positive family dynamic.
Following Princess’s divorce filing, Ray J requested joint legal and physical custody of their children and proposed that their assets remain separate. He also requested that spousal support for Princess be determined at a later date.
Their relationship has seen multiple attempts at reconciliation. Princess first filed for divorce in May 2020, only to dismiss the filing two months later. Ray J then filed for divorce in September 2020, a move he later retracted. Another filing followed in October 2021, which was dismissed in March 2023 after a brief reconciliation.
