Australian musician G Flip is eagerly anticipating watching their wife, Chrishell Stause, compete on the upcoming third season of Peacock’s reality series The Traitors. Chrishell, the 42-year-old Selling Sunset star, was recently announced as a cast member, much to the excitement of both her and G Flip, 30, who are big fans of the show.
G Flip, who uses they/them pronouns, shared their enthusiasm backstage at the 2024 Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City on June 9.
“We love The Traitors. We’re huge fans. We’ve nearly watched all of them. So excited,” G Flip said, while expressing how much they miss Chrishell during her time filming at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.
“She just joined me on tour, so she did some dates, but she’s filming, so we don’t get to talk to each other, which is really sucky,” he added.
Despite the distance, G Flip has nothing but support and love for Chrishell. If they could talk to her, they know exactly what they would say: “I love you, baby. I’m so proud of you. You’re gonna kill it.”
G Flip also humorously added, “I hope you go well in the challenges, and I’m sorry if there’s any bug challenges, because I know you don’t like bugs. And please don’t give her any spiders, please, for goodness’ sake. Do not whack out a spider on my beautiful wife. Do not, because she will quit the show. She will just leave.”
Their witty comment continued with a playful tone, “Actually, I miss her. Bring out the spiders — then she’ll come home. No, but I love The Traitors. It’s a good show. F—, it’s a good show.”
G Flip’s Governors Ball performance comes almost a year after the release of their second album, Drummer, in August 2023.
Reflecting on their tour, G Flip said, “It’s crazy that it’s almost been a year. I didn’t think about that. Now I’m like, ‘Oh s—, it has.’ It’s been so rad, man. I’ve had the best time touring it. I’m still on the Drummer Tour as we speak. I just did seven shows in the last eight days, so I’m still trekking through, but the response has been magic.”
Touring across the U.S. has been a dream come true for G Flip. “I really feel like I’m getting a core fanbase over here in the U.S., which has always been the dream [as] an Australian artist,” they shared.
Despite their busy schedule, G Flip is also working on new music. “It’s been hard to write on tour, not gonna lie. I barely have time to sleep and eat, but new music is coming, and I can’t wait.”
G Flip’s passion for touring and creating music is evident. “I’m so excited for the next album and what it is — and to keep touring. I love tour. I love waking up in different places, meeting different people. The States is such a fun place to tour,” they added.
