Teresa Giudice Reflects On Past With Ex Joe Giudice: “I Had To Go Through All This To Meet Louie”
Teresa Giudice, star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, recently opened up about her tumultuous past and how it led her to her current happiness. Speaking on the latest episode of the Reality with the King podcast, Teresa, 52, reflected on her marriage to ex-husband Joe Giudice and the infidelity rumors that plagued their relationship.
“I still ask him till today, I’m like, ‘Just tell me, f—er,’ and he doesn’t tell me. I’m like, dude, he still f—ing won’t admit it. Do I believe him? No! I don’t believe him,” she said.
Despite these suspicions, Teresa shared that she never let the allegations come between them during their marriage. The real turning point came with Joe’s financial crimes, which led to both of their convictions for bankruptcy fraud in 2014. This marked the beginning of their downward spiral.
“I came home [from prison], Joe left three months later, and then my mom passed away, from when I came home, eight months later,” she recalled, adding, “So after Joe left, my mom passed away five months after that. So that’s when I knew it was over with Joe.”
The loss of her mother was a devastating blow for Teresa, who blamed Joe for the time she lost with her family during her mom’s final years. “I was so upset — I blamed him for losing time with my mom. I lost out time with my mom. And, yeah, I know he didn’t mean to do it. He adored my parents. He really did. I know he did. And, of course, I forgave him,” she stated.
Now happily married to Luis “Louie” Ruelas, Teresa sees her past struggles as a necessary journey to finding her “soulmate.” On the hit Bravo show, she frequently refers to Louie as the love of her life.
“I kept asking God, ‘Why did I have to go through this? Why did I have to go through this? Why did I have to go through this?’ But I had to go through all this to meet Louie, and I really do believe that,” she said.
Teresa shared a story of asking her deceased parents to bring her a “great guy” after her divorce from Joe. She was standing on Bay Boulevard in New Jersey when she made her plea, and three weeks later, she met Louie in that very spot.
“If you go through something bad and you don’t understand why you’re going through it, just don’t give up,” she advised. “You’ll finally get your answer. Look, I got my answer so many years later, and it was because to meet Luis, I had to have my kids with Joe, which I have 4 beautiful daughters with Joe.”
Despite the hardships, Teresa holds no ill will towards Joe, who now lives in the Bahamas following his deportation after prison. “He was a great husband who didn’t mean to hurt me,” she said, expressing gratitude for his attempts to take the blame.
