Eminem Teases Fans With New Album “The Death Of Slim Shady”
Eminem is generating buzz with exciting updates about his new album just hours before its release. The rapper, 51, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday to share a significant announcement.
“Public service announcement: the ‘death of slim shady’ is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense. Enjoy,” he declared.
In addition to this announcement, Eminem released a chilling new trailer for the album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), on Instagram.
The trailer shows Eminem in a dark, rundown basement, tied to a metal folding chair with his hands behind his back and his mouth gagged. His back is to the camera as he watches a static-filled television screen. An announcer’s voice eventually breaks through the static, stating, “…Detroit rapper Eminem in a stunning move has released an album in which he is actually going to cancel himself.”
As the trailer progresses, a robotic voice starts repeating, “Thank the Lord, Coup de Grâce,” while Eminem struggles to free himself from the binds. The video caption intriguingly reads, “‘He’s locked in my basement…’ COUP DE GRÂCE 🤐❌ #TheDeathofSlimShady 7/12.”
Eminem has been actively promoting the album on Instagram, sharing teasers and videos for singles like Houdini and Tobey.
The latest trailer is the first one since July 2, when he posted a video featuring a woman in labor at “Pompsomp Hills Hospital.” In that eerie clip, the baby initially isn’t breathing, prompting doctors to pat his back. But when handed to his mother, the baby grows horns and his eyes darken. “What did you do to him?” the mother cries out as her child begins hissing, causing the doctors to scream and flee the room.
The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), set to be a conceptual masterpiece, will be available to stream on Friday, July 12.
