Blake Shelton To Bring Country Charm To Las Vegas With First Residency
Blake Shelton is gearing up to bring a country flair to Sin City. The 48-year-old country superstar is set to launch his first Las Vegas residency, Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2025. The exclusive run of shows will take place between February 5 and February 15, with tickets going on sale August 16 at 1 p.m. EST on blakeshelton.com.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Blake said, “It’s been swirling for years now, and ever since the idea was first floated about opening an Ole Red in Las Vegas, this conversation has been happening too.”
“If you’re going to have a stake in Las Vegas, you got to do a residency also if you’re an artist. I’ve just been kicking the can down the road because I wanted the Ole Red to be open before I did it,” he added.
Blake’s Ole Red music bars, with locations in Nashville and Vegas, have become fan favorites. The singer often delights fans by making surprise appearances for impromptu performances. He hints, “While I’m there doing the residency I may end up over at Ole Red jumping on that stage one night.”
In late 2021, Blake joined his wife, Gwen Stefani, onstage to perform their hit duet Happy Anywhere. He estimates he caught her show “15 or 16” times during its run.
Inspired by his superstar friend Garth Brooks’ successful residency, Blake is excited to create something unique for his own.
“He played songs that he grew up loving and made him fall in love with music. I don’t want to just rip somebody off, but I do love the idea of doing something that you wouldn’t normally get to see out on tour,” he stated, adding, “So I got to figure out what that is, and now I’m going to start thinking about how it would be different than something I would do on tour.”
Fans can rest assured that Blake will perform his No. 1 hits, as he further said, “I never want people to leave my shows going, ‘S— man, he didn’t do ‘Austin,’ or I wanted to hear ‘God’s Country.'”
Although Blake recently left NBC’s The Voice, he isn’t slowing down. Earlier this year, he and Gwen released their latest love song, Purple Irises, which Blake calls his “favorite” song of theirs.
“I’d always thought it was just something different. It sounded like it came from another time. She’s been working and piling up songs for a while now, and I always went back to, ‘Man, I love that one.’ One day I was sitting at the house and she called me and said, ‘Hey, what do you think of doing “Purple Irises” as a duet?’ I was like, hell yeah!” he said of the song.
