Casey Affleck And Matt Damon Joke About Joining “The Bachelor,” “Alone”
In a surprising and lighthearted moment, actor Casey Affleck revealed that he’s actually considered the idea of joining The Bachelor. While the thought of Casey leading the popular ABC dating show might raise a few eyebrows, his longtime friend and fellow Hollywood star Matt Damon thinks it’s a great idea.
During a recent interview with BuzzFeed UK, the two actors were asked to suggest reality shows they thought the other should join. Without missing a beat, Matt jokingly suggested that Casey, 49, should take a shot at The Bachelor.
Casey didn’t shy away from the idea, teasing, “I’ve thought about it. I thought, ‘That would be really fun.’ I swear – I gave it some real thought.”
The thought of Casey handing out roses and navigating the drama of reality TV had Matt grinning, as he said that it “would be amazing.”
“That would be must-see TV,” Matt added.
Casey, who has been dating actress Caylee Cowan after splitting from his ex-wife Summer Phoenix in 2016, seemed to warm up to the idea, even expressing a bit of excitement: “Ugh. I wanna do it,” he said.
But Matt, ever the practical one, had another idea for his friend. He suggested Casey would be better suited for Alone, the History Channel’s intense survival series where contestants are dropped into the wilderness to fend for themselves.
“Here’s what I’d like to see Casey on Alone. That’s my favorite show,” Matt stated, adding, “I just wonder how long Casey would last, if he’d be able to get his shelter up, start foraging for food, berries. Do a little hunting.”
Casey admitted he’d probably last just “four days,” but agreed it would be a good challenge. “That’s a great show. I’ll do that one,” he said.
Casey’s potential participation in either The Bachelor or Alone might just be a fantasy, but the idea has certainly sparked interest. After all, who wouldn’t want to see a Hollywood star like him trying to survive in the wild or searching for love on national television?
Alone, currently in its 11th season, has captured the attention of many, including other celebrities like Rachel Brosnahan, Ted Danson, and Gwyneth Paltrow. The show pits 10 contestants against the harsh elements of the wilderness, with the winner taking home $500,000. This season, contestants are braving the unforgiving Arctic Circle, the northernmost location in the show’s history.
