Usher Postpones Tour Kickoff To Prioritize Health And Give Fans His Best
Usher fans were gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of his Past Present Future Tour on August 14, but the superstar has decided to press pause — for now. Just hours before he was set to take the stage in Atlanta, Usher announced on social media that he would be postponing the first show to focus on his health.
“For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat, and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans,” he began in his heartfelt Instagram post.
The Good Good singer assured fans that they would still get the full experience of his career-spanning tour, which promises a mix of his classic hits, new songs, and a glimpse into his future work.
“You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present, and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you’ll also be getting 100% of me. The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly waiting for this tour to start.”
The Past Present Future tour is Usher’s first major headlining tour since 2014 and is set to be a celebration of his long and illustrious career in the music industry.
Despite his excitement for the tour, Usher emphasized the importance of taking care of himself to ensure he can deliver the best possible performance for his fans.
“However, I wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best,” he explained.
He then went on to reassure fans that his team would soon announce the rescheduled date for the postponed show, and he expressed his eagerness to celebrate his legacy with them.
For now, Usher is still scheduled to perform on August 16, and August 17, at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. The tour will continue through May 2025, with stops planned in major cities like Boston, Chicago, London, and Toronto.
This delay is just a small hiccup in what promises to be a massive tour for Usher, who has been keeping busy with his successful Las Vegas residency, which wrapped in December 2023, and the release of his ninth studio album, Coming Home, in February.
