Lil Baby Arrested In Las Vegas For Carrying Concealed Weapon Without Permit
Rapper Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, found himself in legal trouble in Las Vegas after being arrested for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The 29-year-old artist was taken into custody on August 26, following an incident on the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard around 5 a.m., according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
Court records reveal that Lil Baby was charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He later posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 1.
In response to the arrest, Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, issued a joint statement to The Los Angeles Times, asserting that the rapper holds a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit. “On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas,” the statement read.
However, this case highlights a crucial issue: concealed weapons permits from Georgia are not recognized in Nevada. According to the Attorney General of Georgia’s website, “Georgia weapons license holders should familiarize themselves with the individual requirements and limitations on Georgia weapons licenses in any of the states where they may wish to exercise their rights.”
The site further advises that weapons laws vary from state to state, and local ordinances may impose additional regulations.
This isn’t the first time Lil Baby has faced legal issues. In 2021, he was detained in France during Paris Fashion Week for allegedly “transporting drugs,” and in February 2019, he was arrested in Atlanta for reckless driving.
Despite these setbacks, Lil Baby has remained focused on his music career. His last album, It’s Only Me, was released in 2022, and he has been actively teasing a follow-up project.
