Cardi B Shuts Down Baby Name Rumors: “Hurricane” Isn’t Happening
Cardi B is setting the record straight about her third baby’s name, and no, it won’t be “Hurricane.” On September 1, the 31-year-old rapper responded to online rumors after fans speculated about the name of her unborn child. The buzz began when a fan page on X (formerly known as Twitter) captioned an ultrasound image from Cardi’s Instagram post with, “Cardi shares ultrasound pic of baby ‘Hurricane.’”
Cardi’s reaction was swift and humorous, responding with a simple, “Who???” followed by crying emojis.
It’s clear that while her fans might be eager to guess, Cardi isn’t letting any secrets slip just yet.
However, the Grammy-winning artist, who already shares two children with her estranged husband Offset, isn’t a stranger to unique baby names. Their daughter, Kulture Kiari, is 6, and their son, Wave Set, turns 3 on September 4. Offset also has three other children from previous relationships – 14-year-old Jordan, 9-year-old Kody, 9, and 9-year-old Kalea Marie.
Cardi announced her third pregnancy on August 1, the same day she filed for divorce from Offset after six years of marriage. The announcement came with a mix of emotions and optimism for the future. “With every ending comes a new beginning!” she wrote on Instagram, reflecting on the new chapter ahead.
The I Like It Like That hitmaker expressed gratitude and determination, saying, “Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
Despite the divorce proceedings, Cardi and Offset put on a united front for their son Wave Set’s third birthday celebration recently. The couple shared clips from the airplane-themed party on their Instagram Stories, showing the toddler enjoying his special day surrounded by family. In one video, Wave is seen dancing with his dad, while another clip shows Cardi holding the birthday boy, proudly displaying her growing baby bump in a cropped T-shirt.
