Nina Dobrev Celebrates Shaun White’s Birthday With Sweet Throwback Photos
Nina Dobrev took to Instagram on September 3 to share a heartfelt tribute to her boyfriend, Shaun White, in celebration of his 38th birthday. The Vampire Diaries star, 35, filled her post with sweet snapshots of their relationship, from fun adventures to silly moments together.
“It’s so hard to go through years of photos and narrow down the ones to post for your birthday,” Nina wrote, adding,. “There are too many photos, too many adventures, too much laughter, too many cute moments, too many trips, too many inside jokes, too many memories, and of course way too many photos that are too inappropriate to post.”
She ended the caption with a loving message, “I love you too much birthday boy 🤍 @shaunwhite.”
The series of photos showcased their deep connection. One picture featured the couple embracing under a bright blue sky, while another showed Shaun dressed in a white shirt with a black bow tie hanging loosely around his neck. There were plenty of fun moments too, like Nina sitting on Shaun’s knee in a floral dress, kicking her leg up in front of a beautiful backdrop. Other images showed the couple riding scooters, raising champagne glasses, and taking multiple selfies.
Nina and Shaun have been open about their relationship since going public in April 2020. Over the years, they’ve shared their love for one another and the fun traditions they’ve developed to keep their romance exciting.
In an interview with PEOPLE in 10 this past January, Nina explained how they maintain their connection with regular date nights.
“In general, I’m more of a planner in life. Yeah, I like a schedule and I like a plan for sure,” she said, attributing it to her Capricorn personality.
But, we implemented something, I think, it’s really cool. We do date night every week and we alternate [planning],” she added.
The actress shared that one week she surprises Shaun with a date, and the next week, it’s his turn to surprise her. In her words: “So, one week I’ll plan it and he won’t have any idea what we’re doing so it’s a surprise for him. And then the following week, he’ll plan and it’ll be a complete surprise for me. And we do that every single week.”
According to her, their way of doing things “keeps things sort of exciting and interesting and dedicates time for the two of us to spend together.”
As for marriage, the couple is in no rush. Shaun told PEOPLE in April 2023 that while they’re “enjoying” their time together, there’s “no pressure” to tie the knot just yet.
“But you never know,” he added. “We’ll see what happens.”
