“There’s Nothing Better”: “Young Sheldon” Actor Montana Jordan Reflects On Fatherhood
Montana Jordan is embracing fatherhood and couldn’t be happier. At the CBS Sit-Down Comedy Event in Los Angeles on Sept. 18, the Young Sheldon star, 21, opened up about his joy since welcoming his daughter, Emma Rae Jordan, with his girlfriend, Jenna Weeks, in May.
“It’s been great for me, man. There’s nothing better,” Montana shared. He added that his daughter, now four months old, has completely changed his life. Although he has experience with kids, being an uncle to his two nieces, aged five and two, he jokingly noted the difference now: “I can’t give mine back. I’m stuck with her.”
“I’m just kidding. No, but she’s great, man. There’s nothing better than freaking being a dad. There’s nothing better, for sure,” he added.
When asked what fatherhood has taught him so far, Montana said it’s all about patience. He emphasized how much this new chapter has made him grow and adapt.
Montana first introduced his daughter to the world in an Instagram post on May 21, sharing a heartwarming photo of him cradling Emma Rae. The post, which featured his newborn wrapped in a pink and white blanket with a matching bow, read, “2/21/2024 God has blessed me with a beautiful babygirl. Emma Rae Jordan, Momma and Daddy love you. Forever and always.”
Since her birth, Montana has shared several updates about Emma Rae’s first months, including a special moment on the set of his upcoming Young Sheldon spinoff, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. In one Instagram post, he shared a behind-the-scenes photo with his daughter, writing, “Emma Rae on set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. #gmfm.”
Montana teased what fans can expect from the new show, saying it will explore the ups and downs of marriage and parenthood, similar to the relatable themes in Young Sheldon. “I mean, coming into Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, you can kind of tell what it’s going to be about from the characters of Young Sheldon, but we’re going to continue that storyline and you get to see all the fights and all the ups and downs of everything,” he stated, adding, “And just like Young Sheldon was relatable, we’re hoping this is going to be just as relatable and that’s going to drag everybody into watching it.”
He also praised his co-star Emily Osment, highlighting their strong chemistry on screen in saying, “We’ve always had great chemistry from the start. She’s a great person and very professional and everything, so it’s always been great working with her.”
