Olivia Rodrigo Suffers Terrible Fate Live On Stage
Many celebrities’ rise to stardom began with dreams they had when they were just children. From Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift to Chris Brown and Justine Bieber, their stardom started with one big dream. Lady Gaga’s dream was so big that a group of students from her high school created a Facebook group titled Stefani Germanotta, you will never be famous.
One thing these stars never dreamt about and dreaded all their lives is the stage mishaps that often come with the territory of their stardom. Such mishaps could be very embarrassing and sometimes lead to serious injuries.
Famous singer Olivia Rodrigo fell prey to such an embarrassing mishap while performing at her third of eight Guts World Tour shows in Australia. The 21-year-old So American singer was performing before a live audience on October 13, when she fell through a hole in the stage at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
Olivia tried to save the day by quickly getting back on stage with a wry laugh.
“Oh my God, that was fun! I’m OK,” the singer said as she tried to get back on stage.
“Wow, sometimes, just there’s just a hole in the stage,” she added.
After picking herself up, the Grammy-winning singer continued her performance but not before dropping another wisecrack to save the day.
Luckily for her, the embarrassing mishaps did not cause her any serious injury. The same could not be said for her ego, which may have taken a terrible beating.
“That’s alright,” the Sour artist said. “OK, where was I? How’re we doing tonight, Melbourne?”
Concert-goers who witnessed the saga and captured the singer’s embarrassing tumble soon began posting the video of her mishap on social media platforms. The crowd could be heard gasping and screaming as she hit the floor.
Olivia, however, did not allow the mishaps to dampen her spirit. She dusted herself up and went on to complete her performance.
The singer, who is set to release her Netflix concert film, Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour, on October 29, shared footage of her mishap on TikTok. Olivia, poking fun at her own misfortune, captioned the footage, #subtleforeshadowing.
Olivia’s embarrassing fall occurred just two weeks before her concert’s release on Netflix. The 21-year-old recently released a statement where she shared her excitement about the Netflix show.
“I am so excited to share the GUTS World Tour with my fans,” the Deja Vu singer said in a statement, adding, “For those of you who didn’t get a chance to rock out in-person, now you can have the best seats in the house! And to the fans who cheered, screamed, and danced with me, I am so glad we get to do it all over again!”
