Chloe Fineman Fan-Girls Over Kamala Harris…While Dressed As Timothée Chalamet!
It was a surreal moment for Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman when she came face-to-face with Vice President Kamala Harris backstage. The 36-year-old comedian shared her excitement on TikTok after meeting the Democratic presidential nominee —but there was one hilarious twist. Fineman was dressed head-to-toe as Timothée Chalamet!
Chloe explained how it all went down on November 2, during a live SNL taping. “I’m waiting for photographic evidence, but last night at SNL. I turned a corner and I was like, ‘Oh my god, Oh my god.’ And it was Kamala,” she recalled.
Caught up in the thrill, Chloe instinctively tried to bond over their shared roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. “I was like, ‘Bay Area!’” said the Berkeley native, “because I knew she’s from there too.” She was so excited that she didn’t even think twice about her Chalamet look.
The two had a quick chat about Oakland, with Chloe gushing over Kamala and even mentioning her friend’s apartment where Kamala once lived. Then, Kamala’s aides asked if she wanted a photo. That’s when it hit her: she was dressed as Timothée Chalamet! “And then, we go to take the picture, and as we’re taking a picture, I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I’m dressed as Timothée Chalamet.’ I need to find this picture, but damn, and I don’t look bad as Timothée Chalamet but it’s crazy. It’s crazy,” she recalled.
The costume was part of a musical sketch Chloe had filmed for the episode, which included Broadway parodies of Hamilton, Grease, and The Lion King to poke fun at a recent Chalamet look-alike contest in New York.
Meanwhile, Kamala made an appearance in the SNL cold open, where Maya Rudolph, playing the vice president, looked to the real Kamala for some campaign advice. In the sketch, Maya as Harris mentioned wishing for guidance from “a Black, South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area.” To everyone’s surprise, Harris showed up and offered a heartfelt pep talk.
“You’ve got this,” Kamala said to Maya, referring to her own journey and adding, “Because you can do something your opponent cannot do. You can open doors.” The line slyly poked fun at a recent mishap where Trump struggled to open a garbage truck door.
The moment ended with the two Harris “twins” sharing a laugh and the cheeky phrase, “Keep calmala and carry on-a-la.” With matching smiles, they quipped, “We know each other so well we even finish each other’s… belief in the promise of America.”
