Jonathan Majors And Meagan Good Are Engaged!
Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are officially engaged! The couple, who have been together since May 2023, confirmed their happy news at the EBONY Power 100 Gala on November 17, in Los Angeles. They shared the joyful moment with PEOPLE while attending the event at NYA Studios West.
Meagan, 43, was seen proudly displaying her sparkling engagement ring as she spoke with PEOPLE about the upcoming holiday season. “We’re feeling great,” she said, her smile radiating with happiness. Jonathan, 35, joined in, adding, “It’s a season of joy,” before Meagan continued, “It’s a season of all the good things.”
Jonathan agreed, saying, “Amen!”
The couple also spoke with E! News, revealing that they chose to share the exciting news at the gala because it holds special meaning to them. It was at this very event that they first met two years ago. “EBONY Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom,” Meagan laughed as she shared the story.
Jonathan and Meagan’s relationship first became public in May 2023 when they were spotted enjoying a movie date in Los Angeles. In a previous interview, Meagan spoke about their instant chemistry when they first met, saying it felt undeniable. This was after she had finalized her divorce from pastor DeVon Franklin in June 2022.
Their engagement comes after a challenging period for the couple. In June 2023, Meagan supported Jonathan through a tough time when he faced accusations of misdemeanor assault and harassment. Jonathan was later convicted in December 2023, and in April 2024, he was sentenced to attend a batterer’s intervention program in Los Angeles.
Earlier this year, Meagan told PEOPLE that Jonathan had tried to protect her by suggesting they shouldn’t be together during his trial. “He wanted to protect me. “I was like, ‘My love, first of all, you’re dealing with a Black Leo. And also, I grew up in this industry. The things that I’ve been through gave me the bandwidth to love other people, regardless. So when we got together it was like, this is going to be a lot, but you got the right one,” she explained.
