Brad Pitt Claims Angelina Jolie Sold Winery Share To “Punish” Him

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s long-running legal battle may have reached a settlement, but the drama is far from over. The former couple, who share six children, have been locked in a tense dispute over their co-owned Château Miraval winery, which remains a sore subject in their divorce proceedings.
A source close to Brad, 61, says that Angelina’s decision to sell her share of the French estate in 2021 was a calculated move to “punish” him. The source claims Brad had built an extraordinary business at the winery, which was growing in value. According to the insider, Angelina disregarded a prior agreement that neither could sell their stake without the other’s approval. ““Instead of completing negotiations for him to buy her out and keeping Miraval fully in the family and ending the battles,” the actress “chose to sell to a total stranger not aligned with the company’s vision so she could take the money for herself and punish him.”
Angelina, 49, on the other hand, argues that there was no secret, unspoken agreement requiring her to ask for permission before selling. In a countersuit filed in 2022, she stated that Brad’s legal actions were part of a “vindictive war” against her.
According to her, Brad was “waging a vindictive war against” she said, insisting that the divorce and winery dispute were part of a larger pattern of behavior.
In a small victory for Brad, a judge recently rejected Jolie’s motions to dismiss the case, allowing the lawsuit to move forward. Legal documents indicate that there may indeed be a written agreement between the two regarding the sale of the winery, which could strengthen Brad’s position in court.
The ongoing battle over Château Miraval has also created significant strain on the family. A source close to Brad stated that Angelina’s actions have caused “tremendous collateral damage” to everyone involved, while the actress’ camp insists that the actpr should move on. “Sadly, until [Pitt] drops his lawsuit, this family will not have the peace and healing they so very much desire and deserve,” a source close to Angelina said.
Angelina’s legal team has argued that Brad refused to buy her out of the winery because she wouldn’t sign a non-disclosure agreement that would prevent her from speaking out about her experiences. They claim this NDA was designed to cover up alleged abuse during their marriage, which Brad has denied.
Despite the legal battles, Brad and Angelina, who were together for 12 years, seem determined to continue co-parenting their six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. However, the emotional toll of their ongoing disputes is clear. Angelina’s attorney, James Simon, said she is “exhausted” but relieved to have one chapter of the case behind her.
Meanwhile, a source close to Brad countered that Angelina’s public attacks and accusations have been ongoing for years, causing unnecessary harm to their family.
