Jen Affleck Shares Emotional New Year’s Post Amid Marriage Speculation
Jen Affleck is stepping into 2024 with raw honesty and a heavy heart. On New Year’s Eve, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star shared an emotional TikTok video where she appeared tearful, set to a powerful voiceover from Queen Latifah’s Last Holiday.
“Wasted too much of my life being quiet,” the audio says. “I was afraid, I guess. You know how it is. You keep your head down and hustle and hustle.”
In the caption, Jen wrote, “The hardest year of my life. But one that will forever change me and who I want to be.”
The heartfelt post comes amid ongoing speculation about her marriage to Zac Affleck. The couple, who share two children, faced public scrutiny after selling their Utah home in September and relocating to New York for Zac’s medical studies — a move Jen openly struggled with.
Jen, 25, has been candid about her challenges on both the show and social media. During an emotional moment on Mormon Wives, Jen and Zac had a heated argument after she attended a Chippendales show with the cast.
“Zac’s making me feel like I did do something, like I cheated on him or something. I clearly didn’t do anything, and he knows my heart and my intentions,” Jen said in a confessional.
“And so it’s so upsetting that he doesn’t believe me or trust me. I would never do anything to jeopardize our marriage and it makes me sad that he doesn’t feel that way,” she added.
In October, fans noticed Jen wasn’t wearing her wedding ring in a TikTok video, sparking breakup rumors. However, a source told PEOPLE at the time that Jen has never consistently worn her ring, and the speculation was unfounded.
Despite the rocky moments, Jen has defended her marriage publicly. Back in September, when the show premiered, she shared an emotional Instagram post about their relationship.
“We were just kids when we got married. Young, naive, and inexperienced, we truly had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Coming from completely different backgrounds, families, and upbringings, it didn’t seem to make sense,” she wrote.
Jen also opened up about the financial dynamics in their relationship, revealing how her growing social media fame shifted their roles.
