Adam Scott Didn’t Expect to Work With Ben Stiller Again — Now He Can’t Get Enough
Ben Stiller is loving every minute of working with Adam Scott again! The 59-year-old director and actor recently shared how much fun he’s having collaborating with Scott on their hit AppleTV+ series, Severance. It’s a reunion that neither of them saw coming, but one they’re both thrilled about.
The two first worked together in the 2013 film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, where Ben starred as a lonely magazine employee and Adam played his condescending boss. While Adam enjoyed working with Ben back then, he never imagined their partnership would continue a decade later.
“It was so fun, and I loved working with Ben. So when [Severance] came up years later, I jumped at the chance to work with him again,” Adam, 51, told PEOPLE.
Ben agreed, admitting he’s been a fan of Adam’s work for years. When he read Severance creator Dan Erickson’s pilot script, he knew immediately who should play Mark S., a worker at the mysterious Lumon Industries who undergoes a bizarre procedure that erases his memory whenever he’s in the office. According to Ben, Adam was the person that came to mind.
As he shared: “And it’s been so much more fun doing this than Mitty for me, because it’s gone on longer and we’ve been able to really get to know each other and work together as producers, and it’s really been great.”
Their working relationship has certainly stood the test of time. Adam recalled that Ben first approached him for Severance back in January 2017. The series finally premiered in February 2022, with fans eagerly awaiting its second season after a long break.
