Mikey Madison Texted Demi Moore After Oscar Win

Mikey Madison is still in disbelief after her big night at the Oscars, but one of the first things she did after winning was reach out to Demi Moore.
The 25-year-old actress, who took home the Best Actress award for her role in Anora, revealed that she immediately texted Demi after the ceremony. Mikey, whose win came as a surprise to many, had nothing but admiration for the The Substance star, who was considered a frontrunner for the award.
“I texted with Demi, who I adore,” she shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on March 4. “She’s one of the sweetest, kindest women I’ve ever met, and I’m so grateful that I was able to meet her and witness her brilliance and talent in person. I adore her, and I can’t wait to see what she does next, what kind of characters she brings us. I think we’re all so ready and excited to see that.”
Both actresses had impressive runs throughout the awards season. Demi, 62, won a Critics Choice Award for her haunting performance in The Substance, while Mikey picked up a BAFTA before her Oscar triumph.
Demi also had kind words for Mikey. The day after the ceremony, she took to Instagram to share her gratitude for the journey and celebrate the The Substance cast and crew. In her post, which included behind-the-scenes clips of her getting ready for the Oscars with her tiny dog Pilaf, Demi also gave Mikey a shoutout.
“A huge congratulations to #MikeyMadison — can’t wait to see what you do next,” she wrote, adding a heart emoji.
Mikey’s win came in a tough category, where she was up against Cynthia Erivo from Wicked, Karla Sofía Gascón from Emilia Pérez, and I’m Still Here star Fernando Torres. She shared that she even hugged Fernando after the ceremony, calling the moment “surreal.”
Mikey is still trying to process her own historic achievement. She admitted, “I’m still kind of floating in a dreamlike state. It was a very, very surreal night — celebratory and wonderful. But I think I need time to really digest the magnitude of it.”
