Vampire Diaries Stars Arielle Kebbel And Zach Roerig Go Public With Real-Life Romance

It looks like Mystic Falls magic is still in the air — and this time, it’s real. Arielle Kebbel and Zach Roerig, who once crossed paths as Lexi Branson and Matt Donovan on The Vampire Diaries, just gave fans the surprise of a lifetime.
Over the weekend, the two actors — both 40 — shared what appeared to be a very real kiss at a fan convention in Covington, Georgia, the very town that stood in for the show’s iconic setting, Mystic Falls.
In a now-viral fan video taken during Epic Cons’ I Was Feeling Epic 3 event on April 6, Zach is seen walking up to Arielle with a sweet bouquet of flowers. The moment is already swoon-worthy — and then they kiss. Yes, for real.
The fan who filmed the moment captioned it, “I love a couple 🥹❤️ The ultimate romantic.” Arielle herself replied to the post with a double heart emoji, sealing the deal.
Though Arielle and Zach only shared brief screen time during the first and final seasons of The Vampire Diaries (2009 and 2017), their connection clearly outlasted the show’s run. And if this moment is any sign, their love story may just be getting started.
This isn’t the first time Vampire Diaries castmates have sparked real-life romance. In late 2023, Candice King, who played Caroline Forbes, went public with Originals alum Steven Krueger. That relationship followed her 2022 split from musician Joe King of The Fray, whom she married in New Orleans in 2014.
Since her vampire days, Arielle has kept busy, as she starred in the cult-classic John Tucker Must Die and currently lights up screens in the Fox action-drama Rescue: HI Surf. Zach, meanwhile, is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series The Waterfront, written and produced by none other than Vampire Diaries creator Kevin Williamson. The show premieres June 19.
