Katy Perry Raves Over Lady Gaga’s “Maginifca” Concert After Her Own Mexico City Shows

Katy Perry didn’t just light up Mexico City with her own concerts; she stuck around to party with Lady Gaga too.
After wrapping three nights of her Lifetimes Tour at CDMX Arena, Katy, 40, hit Gaga’s Viva La Mayhem concert at Estadio GNP Seguros on Sunday, April 27. And judging by her Instagram Stories, she had the time of her life.
“Show was MAGINIFCA! The dress! The sand! Every moment was theee moment,” Katy gushed, sharing a snap of Gaga, 39, draped in a stunning, oversized gown. She added a sweet shoutout: “So proud of you and grateful to grow up together @ladygaga. Love u.”
Katy’s updates were full of Gaga magic, including videos of her belting out Perfect Celebrity surrounded by swirling sand and skeletons, and a shot of Gaga waving the Mexican flag from a high balcony. Katy also posted a fun clip of herself singing along to Abracadabra with her friend Lauren Glucksman and co-writer Sarah Hudson.
Both pop queens had their own shows in Mexico City on April 26, but Katy’s tour is far from over. She’s already moved on to Monterrey for back-to-back concerts at Arena Monterrey on April 28 and 29. Sadly, her Guadalajara dates had to be scrapped due to unfinished construction at Arena Guadalajara.
Katy explained the situation to fans on Instagram last week, saying, “Last week I sent my team to the Arena to make sure there wasn’t anything we could do to make this happen but it was evident when they arrived that the venue was not ready or safe to receive my show or an audience. I wish I could fix this but it is beyond my control. You guys mean the world to me and we have all been on such a beautiful journey together that I will be thinking about how I can create something special for the fans in Guadalajara in the future.”
Meanwhile, Gaga’s Mayhem adventure is just getting started. She’ll bring Mayhem on the Beach to Rio de Janeiro on May 3, then jet off to Singapore before kicking off her massive Mayhem Ball Tour this summer.
Gaga surprised fans by announcing the new tour back in March, saying she hadn’t planned on hitting the road again this year, but the wild love for her new album changed everything.
“We chose arenas this time to give me the opportunity to control the details of the show in a way you simply can’t in stadiums — and honestly, I can’t wait,” she stated, adding that the show “is designed to be the kind of theatrical and electrifying experience that brings MAYHEM to life exactly how I envision it.”
