Tina Knowles Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction During Book Tour

Tina Knowles had a little fashion emergency onstage — and guess who came to the rescue? None other than Keke Palmer, who swooped in like a denim-wrapped superhero with perfect comedic timing.
It all went down on May 2 during the Los Angeles stop of Tina’s Matriarch memoir book tour. Tina, 71, looked stunning in a silver strapless gown that shimmered under the lights — until the dress started to, well, not stay put.
As the legendary mom of Beyoncé and Solange tried to hold her gown in place, a fan-captured TikTok showed Keke, 31, jumping into action. Wearing a cool denim outfit, Keke stood up, leaned over, and asked with concern, “Is this it?” before another woman rushed onstage to help secure Tina’s dress.
But of course, Keke didn’t stop at just helping. She turned the moment into comedy gold. “They was acting like it was a whole murder show,” she joked, poking fun at how panicked the event crew looked.
Keke continued, “I thought it was serious. I saw the teleprompter [start] typing, ‘We need something.’ The hell do y’all mean? They went in for no reason.”
The crowd erupted in laughter as Tina kept adjusting her dress with assistance. Keke kept the energy light with her signature wit, eventually sighing, “Glad that’s over. They was gonna give me a heart attack. Whew! So back to the book.”
Tina and Keke then resumed their conversation, picking up the momentum of the night with grace and a dose of humor.
The moment was just one lively chapter in Tina’s ongoing book tour for Matriarch, her powerful memoir that traces her journey from a young girl with big dreams to a powerhouse entrepreneur and cultural icon. The book also dives into her role guiding Destiny’s Child — which consisted of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams — to global superstardom.
The tour began in Washington, D.C., on April 30, where Michelle Obama helped launch the first event. Next stop: Houston, where Kelly Rowland will moderate. The final event is set for June 4 in London.
