Kate Hudson Reveals Her Unexpected Battle Scar From Netflix’s “Running Point”

Kate Hudson didn’t exactly expect to leave the set of her new Netflix series Running Point with battle wounds but she’s wearing them with pride.
The 46-year-old actress opened up during a recent Emmy FYC event in Los Angeles, sharing a hilarious behind-the-scenes story that fans won’t soon forget. While filming scenes for the basketball dramedy created by Mindy Kaling, Kate found herself covered in mysterious bruises.
One bruise in particular stood out — a massive one on her thigh that caught the attention of her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa. As she recalled: “I remember one time I had this big bruise on my my left thigh and I was getting into bed and [my fiancé Danny Fujikawa] was … like, ‘Babe, what’s going on?’ And it was like massive. And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s weird. Something’s wrong.’”
At first, she was confused. Then it hit her — literally.
Turns out, her character Isla Gordon had been repeatedly banging her leg into a desk drawer during filming. That wasn’t just any drawer, though. In the third episode of the show, Isla discovers her brother Cam’s hidden stash of drugs in that very drawer — a secret he left behind after heading into rehab.
Kate recalled how her character kept running into the same spot during takes, unaware of the physical toll it was taking. “And then I was like, ‘Oh wait, the drug drawer.’ That’s all. I have been hitting a drug drawer for like two weeks,” she shared.
Luckily, help came in the form of her character’s newly found half-brother Jackie, played by Fabrizio Guido, who eventually helped remove the troublesome drawer. As Kate put it with a grin, “Yeah, you know — the war wounds.”
Kate wasn’t alone at the event. Co-stars including Guido, Drew Tarver, Brenda Song, Toby Sandeman, Scott MacArthur, Chet Hanks, and Max Greenfield also showed up to celebrate the show.
