Actors Send Get Well Wishes to Anne Heche After Reckless ‘Fiery Car Crash’
Late morning on August 5, Anne Heche was gravely injured after a disastrous car accident. The Six Days, Seven Nights actress was hospitalized soon after and is now in a stable condition.
Two days after the crash, many actors, including her ex partners, sent their well wishes and hopes for her speedy recovery.
The Los Angeles Fire Department stated that the car traveling at a high speed “struck a house, burst into flames and came to rest 30 feet inside the two-story home.” It was later confirmed that Heche was driving her own Mini Cooper
The crash set fire to, and obliterated the structure of the home. Reports state that there was one resident inside the house at the time of the crash, a woman called Lynne Michele. She was thankfully unharmed and is ‘lucky to be alive.’
Lynne’s neighbors have started a GoFundMe campaign for the losses she incurred during the crash.
As for Heche herself? The rescue team consisted of over 60 firemen, toiling over smoke and fumes for 60 minutes straight. They were trying to extinguish the fire and extract Heche out of the car at the same time.
The neighbors came around to help as soon as they heard the crash. “We were having a hard time seeing and breathing. [was] Overcome by the smoke. So, he went to the back of the house to see if there was an alternative route, maybe we could get to her from the front of the vehicle,” a neighbor adds. “But the smoke, even in the backyard, was pretty darn intense.”
Eye witnesses told TMZ that they spotted Heche driving recklessly before her eventual crash into the house. Apparently, she crashed into the garage of an apartment complex and “peeled through a stop sign” before.
While city authorities are still investigating into the crash and her state of mind while driving, Heche has been hospitalized and is miraculously in a “stable condition.” There’s been an outpour of love and well wishes for her all over social media by colleagues and friends.
“While Anne and I are no longer an item, today’s tragic news was devastating to me and to all who love her,” says ex-partner Thomas Jane, who she dated in 2019.
Her long time ex partner, James Tupper, also shared a heartfelt photo of Heche with their 13 year old son, captioned, “Thoughts and prayers for this lovely woman, actress and mother tonight, Anne Heche. We love you.”
Former co-star Alec Baldwin also expressed his sorrow upon hearing her news. “Hey, I just want to send out my best wishes and all my love to Anne Heche. There’s not a lot of women I’ve worked with that are brave in the way that Anne is brave.”
