‘All My Children’ Star Alec Musser Died From A Self-Inflicted Gunshot
Alec Musser tragically took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday, leaving friends, family, and fans in mourning.
The shocking incident unfolded at his Del Mar, California home, where he was found deceased by his fiancée, Paige Press, on Saturday, January 13. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 50-year-old actor best known for his role on All My Children and appearances on Desperate Housewives, was discovered in his bathroom with a shotgun wound to the chest, alongside a firearm.
Paige initially revealed that Alec was battling a severe case of COVID-19 at the time of his death, despite being vaccinated and boosted. She called it “the worst day of my life” as she confirmed the heartbreaking news.
The couple had become engaged just last year, and Paige shared a touching tribute to the late actor on her Instagram Story. “RIP to the love of my life,” she wrote, alongside a vision board featuring photos of Alec and their engagement. “I will never stop loving you.”
Paige expressed her grief with posts of them at red carpet events and touching moments, stating, “Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy” and “You were the best fiancé I could have ever asked for.”
Alec’s uncle also confirmed the tragic news to TMZ but did not disclose the specific cause of death.
Hollywood actor Adam Sandler, who worked alongside Alec in Grown Ups, paid a touching tribute to his late co-star, remembering him as “a wonderful, funny, good man.” He expressed his condolences to Alec Musser’s family and friends, emphasizing the actor’s kind-hearted nature.
Alec had previously gained fame as Del Henry on the long-running television series All My Children. He secured the role in July 2005 after winning the second season of the SOAPnet series I Wanna Be a Soap Star. His portrayal continued for 43 episodes until his departure in 2007.
In addition to his soap opera role, Alec had appeared in various TV shows and films, including Grown Ups, Desperate Housewives, Road to the Altar, and Rita Rocks.
Beyond his acting career, Alec was an avid athlete, starting his journey as a fitness model after being scouted while working with the professional ski patrol at Mammoth Mountain. He earned modeling credits in publications such as Cosmopolitan, GQ, Men’s Health, Speedo, and Target.
In recent years, Alec had stepped back from Hollywood but remained active on social media, sharing his outdoor activities and fitness pursuits with his followers. His final Instagram post, just four days ago, featured him surfing, receiving heartfelt tributes from fans.
