Backstreet Boys Hold Interview Without Nick Carter, Who Recently Lost Brother
When you hear “The Backstreet Boys,” what comes to mind is five men. However, only four of the members showed up for their interview on This Morning this Friday.
Nick Carter recently lost his younger brother Aaron on November 5 when he drowned in a bathtub over the weekend at his home. With the interview only six days after the tragic incident, the singer understandably could not make it to the interview.
Carter did give the four his blessing to go ahead with the interview, as presenter Alison Hammond said after the interview.
AJ McLean, Brian Littrel, Howie Dorough, and Kevin Richardson made up for Cart’s absence and shared the group’s next steps in a lively chat. The group clocks 30 soon, a feat which Dorough said has seen them become married men from the young boys they were when they started. Despite the fact that they have gotten way older, Dorough said the group has not lost its sparkle as they are “enjoying this now more than ever before.” The men are now excited that they now see the places they travel through their kids’ eyes.
The sit-down with This Morning comes after reports that Aaron, a pop star best known for the 2001 hit I’m All About You, died before he and Carter were able to resolve their difficult relationship. Nick and his sister Angel, Aaron’s twin, each filed a restraining order against Aaron in 2019 after they claimed he made death threats against their family. “We were left with no choice, but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family,” Nick said at the time. Aaron had taken to Twitter to announce that he had just been served by his brother, telling Nick they were “done for life.”
The relationship between the siblings was sour for a while until Angel reached out to Aaron, according to a family source, and told him she and Nick loved him and wanted him to live a more healthy life and break his substance addiction. In the recent past, Nick and Aaron have been communicating through Angel, and the pair seemed to be moving towards more.
A source from Aaron’s camp said that the two Carter brothers were trying to work out the issues between them before his death. After the sad announcement, Nick shared throwback photos of him and Aaron with a caption that expressed his hurt at the latter’s demise. He added that he had love for Aaron despite how complicated things were between them. He and his group paid tribute to the I’m Gonna Miss You Forever singer at a show in London.
Aaron is survived by an 11-month-old son – Prince – whom he shared with his fiancee Melanie Martin.
