Flo Rida’s Six-Year-Old Son In ICU After Early March Fall From Fifth-Floor Apartment
Prayers are up for rapper Flo Rida’s little boy who fell from the fifth floor of an apartment in New Jersey earlier this month. Zohar Dillard, six, is now in critical condition at the intensive care unit of the hospital.
According to Daily Mail, the fall left Zohar with a liver laceration, collapsed lungs, and internal bleeding. He also suffered multiple fractures.
The incident became public knowledge in light of a lawsuit filed against the apartment complex’s owners and managers as well as a window installer and a construction company, among others.
The lawsuit filed by the mother, Alexis Adams, alleged that the incident was able to happen due to the “hazardous condition” the apartment building posed. According to her, the owners and managers of the apartment complex and the maintenance companies in charge did not install the right guards on the windows in the building.
“As a single mom to a special needs child, this feels like a nightmare,” she said in a statement.
“My heart is broken into a million pieces. I am devastated, angry and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to willful negligence of our landlord and others involved In failing to take necessary safety measures.”
The lawsuit seeks compensation for attorney’s fees and damages. It also requests that the defendants cover Zohar’s medical bills as it explains that the young boy sustained serious injuries and will require money for treatment.
The suit also stated that Zohar was “disabled” from the incident and “in the future will be disabled and not be able to perform his usual functions.”
As written in the suit, the six-year-old “has been and in the future will be caused great pain and suffering, to his great loss and damage and will in the future suffer great physical and mental pain and suffering.”
Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Lacel Dillard, has not said anything about the incident or the lawsuit as of the time of this reporting.
It appears that the rapper is not close to the boy, according to Alexis’ claims. In 2018, she told Daily Mail that the Low star had not shown support for his son, who was born with a rare brain disorder.
“Flo Rida has only seen his son once during the paternity test but kept his shades on and his back turned. They were in the same room. He didn’t try to hug Zohar, nothing. It was very cold,” she said.
Flo Rida had reportedly denied he was responsible for Zohar until a DNA test was conducted, showing a 99.9 percent match that the boy is his son.
