Influencer Jackie Miller James Awakens From Coma And Meets Her Baby For The First Time
The family of social media influencer Jackie Miller James shared that she is awake and reunited with her baby.
35-year-old Jackie was 39 weeks pregnant when she suffered an aneurysm, which led to severe bleeding. Doctors had to perform five brain surgeries and an emergency C-section to deliver the baby. After this, the influencer was put in a medically induced coma. This was almost a month ago.
Just a week before her due date, Jackie experienced severe brain bleeding and was found by her husband, Austin, who immediately rushed her to the hospital. After delivering the baby, the newborn was placed in Jackie’s arms. Immediately after, she was directly taken to the NICU where she stayed for the next 12 days.
On July 2, the influencer’s family shared an update about Jackie’s medical state on her Instagram account, “We are beyond thrilled to share that your loving prayers for Jackie have been working! Jackie is awake and was recently transferred to one of the best neurological rehabilitation hospitals in the country. The doctors have been pleased upon her latest tests, numbers, and evaluations, noting that Jackie is performing above expectations at this stage of her recovery and is progressing more with every passing day.”
They also shared that while the influencer is making amazing progress, she still has a long road ahead. The post shared that Jackie had been reunited with her baby, meeting her properly for the first time and that she is spending a lot of time with her entire family while she continues her stay at the hospital.
They also shared that the influencer’s daughter is a source of light for the entire family and is growing into a happy, healthy, and animated little angel.
The post also clarified that moving forward, any updates shared on Jackie’s platform would be from the influencer herself, whenever she is ready.
The family has also set up a GoFundMe page to help the influencer get the best help possible. They hope to raise $450,000 (£355,131) that will help Jackie’s family take care of her properly. They explain that they are navigating rehabilitation needs, medical bills, and insurance claims and that the funding will get her the best care and give her every chance of recovery.
Jackie’s sister started the page, which has already raised more than $300,000. The money will not only help with the hospital bills but also home modifications, speech therapy, and physical therapy. The family has also clarified that any unused funds will be re-donated to similar charities.
This is not the first time that Jackie’s family has let her fans know the details of the influencer’s well-being. Earlier on June 6, they updated fans that her baby was out of intensive care but Jackie was still to remain at the hospital “foreseeable future.”
Jackie is a renowned social media personality with followers like Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Sofia Richie. She posts beauty and relationship content and even shared photos of her wedding in 2022. Before the news hit social media, Jackie had around 30,000 Instagram followers, and the count has now increased to 76,000 followers.
