Kevin Federline Reveals Why Britney Spears’ Sons Do Not Want To See Her — Spears Responds
Kevin Federline, the ex-husband of international pop star Britney Spears, has revealed shocking information about why Britney’s sons have chosen not to see her. Jayden (15) and Sean (16) seem to have certain reservations when it comes to their mother.
“It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her,” Kevin explained. “They made the decision not to go to her wedding,” says Federline to ITV News. The two kids also shared that the decision to not see their mother was a painful one.
The children seem to have opened up to their father about how Britney posting occasionally censored naked photos of herself on her Instagram makes them feel. “It’s tough,” says Federline. “I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself. But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them.”
According to Federline, Sean and Jayden would confide in him about certain events they would witness over the years while they were with their mother. This made Federline uncomfortable. “There were a lot of things going on that I didn’t feel comfortable with,” he shared without going into any further detail.
Spears, however, did not hold back when these comments came to light. She took to her Instagram to say, “It saddens me to hear that my ex husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children. As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone.”
“It concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram … it was LONG before Instagram … I gave them everything … Only one word: HURTFUL,” Britney adds in response to the kind of content she shares on her Instagram.
Federline adds to the conversation by talking about how his ex-wife had publicly criticized him during her conservatorship period. “Geez my ex-husband wouldn’t see me when I flew to New York with a baby inside me and Las Vegas when he was shooting a video,” Spears had exclaimed at the time.
Well, call us crazy but choosing to not visit your pregnant wife could be a valid ground for critique, right?
Spears was legally bound for 13 years by her father Jamie Spears. During this time, she could not make executive decisions for herself in terms of her career or personal life. Federline expressed how he thought her father was just looking out for Britney.
“I saw this man that really cared, and really cares about his family and wanting everything to be OK. When Jamie took over, things got into order. He saved her life.” This statement came after Federline had filed a restraining order in 2019 against Jamie Spears after he allegedly got into a physical fight with the two sons.
Spears and Federline shared custody of their children after they filed for divorce. In 2018, they changed parts of their custodial arrangement so that Federline would have custody for 70% of the time, as opposed to just 50%. The two children currently live with Federline, his current wife Victoria Prince, and their two daughters.
