Kid Cudi Left His Rolling Loud Headline Early Due to Crowd’s Disrespect
Kid Cudi left the stage early during his headlining performance due to harassment from the crowd.
The audience was full of fans for Kanye West, who was originally supposed to perform, yet they still showed up to display their displeasure. People in the crowd shouted profanities and even booed Kid Cudi while he was rapping. There were also audience members that were throwing water bottles and random trash onstage, targeting the rapper.
Kid Cudi grew tired of the harassment and told the audience that he would leave if another object was thrown at him. An audience member threw a water bottle directly at his face, and he responded by dropping the microphone and immediately walking offstage.
Kid Cudi was chosen at the last minute to perform as the headliner for Rolling Loud after Kanye West decided he was no longer performing. Although no one is exactly sure about why Kanye West withdrew from his contract, the festival planners stated that the decision was completely “out of their control.” Apparently the planners had spent months working with West on his performance, and were disappointed that he was going to quit so suddenly.
Fans of Kanye West were angry when the festival announced that Kid Cudi would be replacing West, even though West was the one who decided not to perform. Kid Cudi and Kanye West do not have the best relationship at this moment, despite having worked together before on several music projects. Cudi is friends with Pete Davdison, who West has made publicly obvious he detests. Kanye has even taken to social media to shame Kid Cudi for befriending one of West’s known adversaries.
Despite refusing to perform and dropping out of the headline, West still gave a performance on a different stage. He appeared with Lil Durk and surprised the audience. West even performed a song that he had worked on with Kid Cudi, perhaps out of spite.
