Marvel’s Hawkeye Jeremy Renner Needs A Second Surgery And Is Admitted To ICU
Marvel actor who plays Hawkeye Jeremy Renner is currently in intensive care after an accident that involved his snow plow. Reports also show that Jeremy would require a second surgery so his doctors can look further and do what is required for his extensive injuries.
The 51-year-old star suffered orthopedic injuries and blunt chest trauma after the snowcat he was using to plow his driveway ran him over.
Jeremy already went through his initial surgery last Monday as part of the extensive recovery process that his doctors mapped out for him. Still, it appears that a second surgery is needed to ensure that his long recovery process won’t have any setbacks.
His family released a statement to express their gratitude to Jeremy’s incredible team of doctors and nurses who are looking after him. The statement said that the family, “Are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
Recall that the Hawkeye actor was airlifted to the hospital after the accident last Sunday.
Jeremy, a two-time Oscar nominee, was alone when the accident happened. He was clearing a path out of his home with his PistenBully. This is a snow groomer manufactured by the German brand Kassbohrer.
The safety features of the vehicle failed to prevent it from rolling over Jeremy’s leg around a quarter mile from the Lake Tahoe property.
The good news was that a neighbor, who was a doctor, placed a tourniquet on Jeremy’s injured leg to help with the bleeding. Unfortunately, Jeremy lost a significant amount of blood by the time he was transported by air.
Jeremy’s transport to the hospital from the snowy and bloody scene happened at around 9:50 a.m.
Currently, Jeremy is critical but stable in the hospital and is still being closely monitored by his medical team. Sources close to the family revealed that Jeremy not only sustained injuries on his leg but that they also affected other parts of his body.
There are no clear indications yet on Jeremy’s PistenBully groomer, such as whether he bought it brand new, secondhand, or for how long he has been operating it.
Jeremy’s particular model is no longer available on the company’s website. Still, there are similar models already tagged as vintage at second-hand sales.
Jeremy’s representative yesterday assured the actor’s fans that his family is with him while receiving care. He added, “We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today.”
In an official statement, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office details the incident, “At approximately 9:00 a.m. on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.
“Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital. Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the circumstances of the incident.”
