After the release of their multimillion-dollar Netflix special, Meghan and Prince Harry have snagged the spot in Ranker’s “Celebrities You’re Sick of in 2022.” Meghan gets the top spot, with her husband at number two.
This is a big surprise because many have supported the Sussexes. They were also included on the list last year, but that was a far cry from their current year-end ranking. Meghan ranked 20th in 2021, while Prince Harry ranked 23rd.
The poll results are in, and the bottom line is that people all over the world have grown tired—rather quickly—of Sussex’s story. People understand what they’ve been through, but their relentless whining, desire for privacy, and contradictory stories are massive contributors to why plenty are fed up with them.
On Saturday, the 41-year-old Meghan got 24,201 votes out of 416,000 votes cast, while Harry received 21,492 votes. Both received more than 5% of the votes of the almost half a million people who willingly participated in the survey. People believe that the couple wanted things to go their way whether they were working Royals or not.
Family-oriented viewers and responders are also not too happy with how they handle the family drama—using the media instead of discussing it privately with Harry’s side of the family. Furthermore, people believe that the couple bit the hand that fed them by opposing The Firm and then asking the public to choose their side in this massive family drama.
People would like to hear less from this couple and for them to avoid turning to the media for every incident that doesn’t go their way.
Another celebrity who made it to the top of the list is Oprah Winfrey, who last year played a role in an explosive interview with Prince Harry and Meghan. During the interview, they discussed issues concerning their son’s skin color, their security, and the lack of support during their short stint in the UK.
Amber Heard is also on the list, thanks to her infamous defamation case against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, and then there’s also James Corden and Kim Kardashian.
Unlike the Sussexes, the other names included on Ranker’s list came under fire in 2022 due to career-related concerns. Kanye West, for his anti-Semitic outbursts, and Ellen DeGeneres, for the toxic work culture she fostered during her show, are two examples.
Completing the top ten is Hilaria Baldwin, wife of Alec Baldwin, who came under fire last year for “accidentally” shooting their cinematographer while filming the movie Rust.
