Paul Rudd Made a Middle Schooler’s Year After Classmates Would Not Sign Yearbook
Brody Ridder, a 12-year-old middle schooler, didn’t have the greatest school year this past year. He came home with a yearbook that his fellow classmates refused to sign. His mom saw Brody’s empty yearbook and took to Facebook to encourage parents to raise their children to be kinder.
In the post, Ridder’s mom even shared what he had written on a blank page for himself: “Hope you make some more friends — Brody Ridder.”
The post went viral, and many people felt bad that Brody had to struggle so much. It can be challenging to make friends at such a young age, and that fact seemed to resonate with many people.
Paul Rudd discovered the post and learned that Ant-Man was one of Brody Ridder’s favorite superheroes. Rudd reached out to the family and set up a FaceTime call with Brody Ridder.
After the call, Rudd sent Ridder a signed Ant-Man helmet and a handwritten note full of encouraging wisdom from someone who gets what he is going through.
In Rudd’s note, he wrote, “It’s important to remember that even when life is tough that things get better. There are so many people that love you and think you’re the coolest kid there is — me being one of them! I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’re going to accomplish. Your pal, Paul.”
A letter like that is sure to mean so much to someone who is going through the struggles of growing up. Paul Rudd has given Ridder a memory that he can cherish, and it may just be the kind of thing to keep him going for the next school year.
Paul Rudd loves to interact with his fans, and he often jumps at the opportunity to take photos and have chats with the many people that approach him. Every fan who has gotten the chance to meet with him always praises his kindness and genuine interest in his fans and connecting with them.
