In a heartbreaking announcement on social media, the Morgan family shared the passing of reggae sensation Peter Anthony Morgan, known to fans as “Peetah.” The Grammy-winning artist, who fronted the beloved group Morgan Heritage, departed on Sunday, leaving behind a legacy of soulful music and profound impact.
The family conveyed their loss in a statement on social media, which read, “It is out of sincere love that we share that our beloved husband, father, son, and brother and lead singer of Morgan Heritage Peter Anthony Morgan has ascended today February 25th, 2024. Jah come and save us from ourselves because love is the only way.”

Peetah Morgan, a founding member of Morgan Heritage alongside his siblings Una, Roy “Gramps,” Nakhamyah “Lukes,” and Memmalatel “Mr. Mojo,” leaves behind a remarkable musical journey. The group’s debut album, Miracle, marked the beginning of their illustrious career, leading to over a dozen record releases and culminating in a Grammy win for Best Reggae Album in 2016 with Strictly Roots.
