Sarah Jessica Parker Shares News Of Losing Her Stepfather From A Rapid And Unexpected Illness
The 57-year-old Sex and the City star shared the heartbreaking news of the death of her stepfather last Wednesday. This is one day after the actress had an exciting night attending the premier of her latest movie, Hocus Pocus 2, with her family, including her husband Matthew Broderick and 13-year-old twin girls Tabitha and Marion.
Sarah Jessica’s family released a statement concerning the demise of Paul Giffin Forste at the age of 76 last Thursday. It is believed that in the last moments of the loved father, he was surrounded by nothing but gratitude and love, headed by his wife, Barbara, and their children, including Sarah.
Furthermore, the family shared that Paul will always be cherished as a loving and kind man with remarkable faith. His dedication to making the world a more tolerant, charitable, and beautiful place will also be remembered. These qualities made him a much-loved grandfather to 13 children.
Sarah Jessica’s mother, Barbara, divorced her biological father, Stephen Parker, when the actress was just three years old, and she married Paul. He had then been working as an account executive and truck driver. Since then, Paul became the father figure for the young Sarah Jessica and has been a strong presence in her life.
Last Wednesday, Page Six reported that the Failure to Launch actress exited the New York City Ballet’s 10th Annual Fall Fashion Gala shortly after her arrival. The reason provided then was a “sudden devastating family situation,” but no further details were disclosed on the actress’s sudden departure.
However, a spokesperson did mention that Sarah Jessica did not go to the gala or the event at David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Supposedly, the annual gathering was held to honor Sarah Jessica. She functions as the vice chair of the New York City Ballet of Directors due to her leadership and vision of the Fall Fashion Gala. Other Fall fashion Gala choreographers and designers were also set to be celebrated for their work.
Despite the absence of the actress, the exquisite occasion had other celebrities in attendance like Julia Fox. Solange Knowles, sister of Beyonce, was also present, and she made history after being the first Black woman to score a ballet for the association.
Sarah Jessica is notoriously private about her family and personal life, especially with her daughters. So it was a surprise that the family shared this loss with her fans and the public. It was just sad that the untimely passing of her stepfather meant he would have to miss the actress’s Hollywood franchise movie, Hocus Pocus 2.
The first movie, released in 1993, entertained and triggered some delightful fear in the younger generation when the coven of evil witches was released. This movie was successful thanks to a unique storyline and the impressive performances of Sarah Jessica, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy.
Sarah Jessica shared that her daughters were big fans of the movie, which might be why the teens decided to join their mother at the premiere. The girls were excited to meet the other “witches” and asked their mother if they would meet Bette and Kathy as Winnie and Mary as their Hocus Pocus characters or as the regular Bette and Kathy.
The movie will be available globally by September 30.
