Teddi Mellencamp Opens Up On Divorce: “I Am Doing Alright”
Teddi Mellencamp, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, is sharing how she’s holding up after filing for divorce from Edwin Arroyave, her husband of 13 years. On the latest episode of Two Ts In A Pod, her podcast with RHOC star Tamra Judge, Teddi shared some honest thoughts on this major life transition.
“I’m doing alright,” Teddi, 43, said, expressing a steady resolve despite the big changes. When Tamra asked how she was handling it all, Teddi kept things brief, saying, “I’m really just trying my hardest to make sure my kids’ privacy is protected.” As a mom of three — 12-year-old Slate, 10-year-old Cruz, and 4-year-old Dove — she made it clear that her top priority is maintaining stability for her children.
Teddi initially announced the split publicly on social media, explaining that while it wasn’t her first choice, she wanted to avoid rumors and speculation. “After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. My priority is my children and ensuring every care is taken with their privacy and well-being throughout this new chapter,” she wrote.
When fans questioned why she’d posted about the divorce at all, Teddi explained that once the court filing went public, it was best to be open.
“Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do. But in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I have felt being open, honest, and vulnerable is the best path forward,” she explained.
According to divorce documents, Teddi is seeking primary legal and physical custody of her kids, with “reasonable and frequent” visitation for Edwin. She also requested spousal support and that Edwin cover all legal fees. Edwin hasn’t shared any direct comments about the divorce but did post a couple of cryptic Instagram updates. The day after the filing, he shared a screenshot of his sleep schedule with the caption, “Finally got some rest!” Two days later, he posted a yoga selfie with a message on resilience: “Good habits are what get you through your dark days.”
On the podcast, Teddi thanked fans for their support and positivity, and Tamra encouraged listeners to keep things supportive, adding that “this is a very sensitive subject.” For Teddi, the focus is clear: “I am gonna keep working on feeling my best so that I can show up for the best for my kids and my life and my work,” she said.
